Ruben Pichirilo arrested in weekend shooting of Allentown teen

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old Allentown boy.
The victim was found around 11:55 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of E. Livington Street with a single gunshot wound to the left side of his chest.
He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill with life-threatening injuries. According to court documents, he underwent several surgeries and had a kidney, spleen and part of his lungs removed.
He remains hospitalized.
Ruben Pichirilo of 1323 W. Chew Street was arrested Wednesday and charged with attempted criminal homicide and aggravated assault.
The victim told police he was in a burgundy Tahoe with "P-Dot" (later identified as Pichirilo), P-Dot's father and another man Saturday night when they all went to an apartment building to buy about $700 worth of marijuana.
They gave the money to a person who was to sell them the drugs but that person never showed up with the money or the drugs, police said.
According to court documents, Pichirilo took the victim on a walk, then pulled out a handgun from his waistband and shot the victim once, then ran away.
Police said Pichirilo told them he shot the victim once.
Pichirilo is in the Lehigh County Prison under $1 million bail.
