A big roof-like canopy over the pumps of a gas station toppled over thanks to the heavy snow and crashed onto a 92- year-old woman's car.

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. -

A snow-covered canopy collapsed over the pumps at a gas station in the middle of Quakertown, Bucks Co., Thursday afternoon.

It happened about 2:40 p.m. at the Sunoco A-Plus at 331 W. Broad St.

At least one car was at the pumps when the large flat roof fell toward Broad Street, but no one was injured.

Fortunately, the canopy did not crash into the convenience store next to the pumps.

The owner of the store said five other vehicle had just left the pumps minutes before the collapse.

Cpl. Joshua Mallery of Quakertown police said it appears the canopy tipped over because of snow that had built up on top of it.

Mallery reported one vehicle was slightly damaged and the driver, a 92-year-old woman, was shaken up but not physically injured.

The store is closed. Power was shut down to the pumps while crews work to remove the canopy.
