READING, Pa. -

A man who was shot by police after trying to run over two police officers will spend time behind bars.

Rodney Hojnowski has been sentenced to four to 14 years in state prison as part of a plea agreement.

Hojnowski was wanted for a parole violation when police attempted to pull him over on Route 724 in Spring Township on Mar. 20, 2012.

As they approached his car, however, Hojnowski stepped on the gas and tried to run over the officers, who managed to draw their guns and open fire, shooting Hojnowski in the chest.

That didn't stop him, however. Hojnowski continued to flee, making it to his home on Cleveland Avenue before he collapsed.

Authorities said the shooting was justified because the officers were in danger.
