Residents: Allentown deadly shooting was in self-defense

A shooting in Allentown has left a neighborhood in shock and police investigating.
The shooting, which occurred in the 600 block of East Westminster St., left one man dead and another taken to the hospital for non- life threatening injuries.
Police say they responded a little after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, 35-year-old Carlos Lugo was found dead in the driveway from a gunshot wound.
One neighbor, Eli Samaan, said the shot was so loud it echoed throughout the whole neighborhood.
Another neighbor, Eric Brown, said, "it is a little strange, if you ask me 'cause this is a good neighborhood so you never expect something like that to happen over here."
Others, who live in the area but did not want to go on camera, said the man who pulled the trigger is a neighbor.
They say several men tried to rob him when he came home, so, the shooting, they say, was in self-defense.
Lugo's death has been ruled a homicide. The second man was treated and released from the hospital. Police have not released his name.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
