It didn't take long for the region's first baby of the new year to be born.

WEST READING, Pa. -

It didn't take long for the region's first baby of the new year to come into the world.

Marissa Lilliana-Rose Wilby was born at Reading Hospital at 12:04 a.m. Wednesday.

"Five minutes of pushing. That's it. I'm very blessed," said the baby's mom, Laura, who wasn't expecting her baby to be born on New Year's Day.

Marissa weighed in at 6 pounds, 4.2 ounces and measured 19-1/4 inches.

St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill, Lehigh Co., welcomed its first baby of 2014 at 1:59 a.m. "Baby Boy Shah" is the second child for Sajjad and Yasmin Shah, of Bethlehem. He has a 4-1/2-year-old brother.

Pottstown Memorial Medical Center in Pottstown, Montgomery Co., welcomed its first baby of the new year, a boy, at 3:16 a.m.

At last check, St. Joseph Medical Center in Bern Twp., Berks Co., had not had a baby born on New Year's Day.
