The reaction among the players is mixed as to whether the U.S. Open will return to Merion Golf Club.

ARDMORE, Pa. -

The 113th U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club proved to be a very formidable challenge. Justin Rose posted a winning score of +1, which prompted mixed reaction from the field on the possibility of a future return to Merion.

The course was hit hard by heavy rains early in the week, causing many to feel that the golfers would post great scores on an already shorter course.

The USGA responded with very tough pin placements and manipulating green speeds to ensure that scores would remain consistent with normal U.S. Opens.

Some golfers thought that Merion may have been too difficult. Others think that is was designed fair, also noting the great atmosphere that Philadelphia's fans provided.
