Rain on Friday gives way to sunny Saturday & Sunday
High temperatures on Thursday soared into the low and mid 60s. That may not seem like much being that normal highs for early April are usually in the upper 50s, but it was the third consecutive day with highs in the 60s in Allentown and the high of 64 was the warmest temperature recorded at the LVIA so far this year.
Today will not be nearly as warm as yesterday.
In fact with highs only reaching the upper 40s and low 50s, cloudy skies and occasional rain today is going to have a raw, damp feel to it...especially when you factor in the wind.
The rain will become steadier and heavier later this afternoon and then continue into the overnight before tapering off.
Before it comes to an end a few rumbles of thunder and some lightning strikes are possible.
Rainfall amounts will be around a half an inch for most locations.
By sunrise on Saturday, the rain will be well off to the east.
As some sunshine returns to the for the first half of the weekend, afternoon high temperatures will return to the mid/upper 50s and low 60s.
However, Saturday will be rather windy and those winds may usher in a spotty shower across the northern parts of our viewing area..
Sunday those winds will die down, sunshine will become more abundant and highs top out near 60 degrees.
Today: Chillier than yesterday with occasional rain and drizzle; patchy fog. High: 49
Tonight: Cloudy with periods of rain and a thunderstorm early, tapering to a leftover shower after midnight. Low: 42
Saturday: Breezy with periods of clouds and sunshine. High: 56 Low: 30
