A Tilden Township man locked up for involuntary manslaughter in Lehigh County may get a new trial.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A Tilden Township man locked up for involuntary manslaughter in Lehigh County may get a new trial.

A judge has granted a new trial for Andrew Gesslein, citing insufficient evidence.

Gesslein was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Michael Randolph.

Gesslein shot and killed Randolph at the North End Republican Club in Allentown last year, police said. Gesslein said he acted in self defense.

Prosecutors plan to file a separate appeal, accusing the judge who granted the new trial of abusing his discretion.
