HARRISBURG, Pa. -

A bill now being discussed in the Pennsylvania House regarding gun laws could affect the enforcement of local firearm ordinances.

The bill would allow an individual or member organization to legally challenge a municipal firearm ordinance.

Supporters of House Bill 2011 say local governments have ordinances in defiance of the state's Crimes Code -- which says no municipality may, in any manner, regulate the lawful ownership, possession, transfer or transportation of firearms or ammunition.

If passed, the bill would allow residents in Allentown and Wilson borough to challenge the city's ordinance requiring gun owners report lost or stolen guns right away.
