Police warn about rash of daytime break-ins in Allentown

Allentown police are warning residents who live in the southwest side of the city.
According to a post on their Facebook page, police say there has been an increase of daytime burglaries in an area covering close to 20 city blocks between south 10th and 18th streets.
Police say burglars are making their way into people's homes in the middle of the day in an area stretching from West Linden Street to Fairview Street.
Police say the burglars are either going in through a garage door, an open window or even pushing in air conditioning units.
Even though the neighborhood on Fairview Street is quiet, neighbors say they always make sure to be vigilant.
“My son in law, he's a bus driver so he does rounds. he keeps coming down stairs when he knows everybody's in bed he wants to make sure all the windows are locked and everything...he's very precautious,” said resident Diana Vega.
However, news of the daytime break-ins still has them stunned.
“That does surprise me because I don't see anything that would make me think 'I need to watch them guys' or 'watch them girls' or 'watch them people',” said longtime resident Sania Owens.
Allentown police won't give more details since they're still investigating and there haven't been any arrests linked to the break-ins.
If you see anyone or anything suspicious call police and make sure to tell your neighbors.
