WILSON, Pa. -

A teen is in trouble with the law for damaging a bicycle he stole from a juvenile.

Alexander C. Rader stole the black Kink Curb bicycle from the juvenile while the juvenile was riding it in the area of Ferry and South 22 streets around 6:00 p.m. Aug. 25.

The bike, which the juvenile borrowed from a friend, was found badly damaged three days later at the rear of Jeffrey Field, near the bike path in Liberty playground along Birch Street in Wilson, Northampton Co., officials said.

The mother of the bike's owner identified the bike at police headquarters. An employee of the Broken Spoke Bicycle Shop in Wilson estimated that the $269 bike was now worth $50, officials noted.

Rader, 18, of 2215 Fairview St., Wilson, was arraigned Monday on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $1,500 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 26.
