Police: Man jailed for aggravated assault

MIDDLE SMITHFILED TWP., Pa. -

A man is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, for striking a victim with a knife.

Police say they responded to reports of a fight involving two people at a residence located on Castor Rd. in Middle Smithfield Twp. at about 12: a.m. 

Upon their arrival, witnesses told police 25-year-old Tristen Thomas Shook from Stroudsburg pulled a knife from his person and struck an unnamed 30-year-old man from East Stroudsburg.

Shook struck the victim in the forehead and right arm before fleeing the scene on foot.

Troopers Kelleher and Collins canvassed the area and found Shook walking away from the scene southbound on Coolbaugh Dr.

The troopers took Shook into custody without incident.

Shook is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and committed to Monroe County Correctional Facility.

There is no word on the condition of the victim and his identity has not been revealed.
