Police in the Poconos say they've nabbed a man who had tens of thousands of child pornography images on his computer.

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -

Police in the Poconos say they've nabbed a man who had tens of thousands of child pornography images on his computer.

On top of that, police say Stephen Dondero had more than 500 videos of child pornography.

The East Stroudsburg man is charged with 30 felonies for disseminating child porn.

Thursday police and FBI raided the East Stroudsburg apartment of 43 year-old Stephen Dondero.

What police say was found on his computer is almost a worst case scenario for neighbor and mother of a 12-year-old, Marcia Goodridge.

"I feel very hurt, tears came to my eyes because my child has run around here since she was two and half years old," she said.

"We're now up to now over 33,000 images and 500 videos," Monroe County Detective Brian Webbe said.

Webbe expects to find up to 60,000 images on Dondero's computer.

Dondero is being charged with 30 felonies for disseminating child pornography.

"What Dondero was doing was batch downloading files, he would search for common child porn search terms and would return a list of files for other users to share," Webbe explained.

Dondero isn't alone. Webb says he runs several similar online investigations per month, making up to 30 arrests per year and hopefully preventing future abuse of children in the process.

"The reason they are viewing this type of materials is obviously because they are sexually attracted to children, so it stands to reason that quite a few of them are going to eventually progress to being what we call a 'contact offender,' which is someone who actually has sexual contact with a child," Webbe explained.

In this development dominated with kids, it's a very scary scenario.

"If you don't know what's going on, you don't know. But when you find out what is going on it's very disturbing," neighbor Barbara Glasco said.

Dondero declined to comment but Glasco and Goodridge say a petition has been started to have him leave the apartment.
