Police have identified three people believed to be the culprits who stole bags full of toys from a children's summer camp in Berks County.
Arrest warrants were executed Thursday morning for Wellington Mayo, 41, and Sandy Rodriguez, 28, both from the 500 block of South 14th Street in Reading.
Officers used a battering ram to break down the door of the home where the two suspects were believed to be located, but no one was inside.
"Most of the tips we got actually named the two individuals we have the arrest warrants for," said Sgt. Keith Phillips, West Reading Police Dept.
Shortly after Wellington and Rodriguez's pictures were posted on WFMZ.com, a third person, a 15-year-old boy, turned himself in to police.
According to police, all three were seen in surveillance video stealing more than $1,000 in toys from children at the summer playground program at the West Reading Playground on Friday.
Police delivered the toys they recovered on Wednesday to the children who have been left heartbroken.
"Me and my friends we were just looking down seeing all these toys getting back," said Amaya Motta, who goes to the summer camp.
"I'm happy about it," said Georgia DeLucas with a smile.
Their happiness turned into a bit of disappointment when they realized some of their toys were still missing and others were damaged.
"I was glad we got to play with our stuff, but now it's popped and we can't," said Joseph Anzulewicz, who attends the program.
On Thursday, police released new surveillance video that showed another woman with a distinctive tattoo on the back of her neck. Investigators believed she is linked to the crime.
Mayo, Rodriguez, and the two other people used children to haul away several large bags of donated toys from the playground near 5th Avenue and Sycamore Road, police said.
Early Wednesday morning, someone called 69 News with an anonymous tip about where many of the $1,000 worth of stolen toys could be found and said the people who took them were sorry.
WFMZ's Dwayne Parker, along with officers, went to the location at Parkside Drive South and Thrush Road in Wyomissing, where the several large bags of toys were located.
Police photographed the toys and took and inventory before returning them to the children, who had a message for the suspects.
Mayo, 41, is described as a black man who stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has tattoos on his left hand and left bicep, police said.
Rodriguez, 28, is described as a Hispanic woman who stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. She has brown hair, green eyes and a medium build.
If you know of the suspects' whereabouts, or can identify the fourth person still being sought by police, you're asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
