Mall arson

MAHONING TWP., Pa. -

Police in Carbon County say a fire at a Mahoning Township mall was intentionally set.

The fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. Sunday inside Beverly Hill Nail Salon at the Carbon Plaza Mall on Route 443.

The fire was extinguished by the sprinkler system. While several surrounding businesses sustained water damage, and were forced to remain closed for business, no injuries were reported, police said.

Police say officials determined the fire was intentionally set.

Authorities say they have a suspect in mind, but no arrest has been made.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Mahoning Township Police at 570-386-2241.
