HAMILTON TWP., Pa. -

Police in the Poconos say they have nabbed an armed fugitive.

Police say 22-year-old Patrick John Cawley of Scranton was taken into custody following a motor vehicle stop early Saturday morning on Route 80 East in Hamilton Township, Monroe County.

Police say they initially stopped the vehicle for having a registration plate that did not belong the vehicle.

During the stop, numerous indicators of criminal activity were detected, according to police. A fully loaded .22 caliber revolver was found under the passenger seat along with marijuana and paraphernalia, police said.

Police also discovered Cawley was wanted by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office for failure to appear.

Cawley is being held at the Monroe County Jail on his warrant and charges of carrying a firearm without a license, marijuana possession and paraphernalia possession.
