A Monroe County military warehouse is cutting back... on cutbacks.
Tobyhanna Army Depot has reduced its number of civilian furlough days from 11 to six.
That means Friday is the final furlough day for Tobyhanna's 3,500 civilian workers.
The Depot shut down industrial operations for six straight Fridays. The furloughs were part of sequestration -- mandatory federal spending cuts.
The furlough figure has been reduced a couple of times.
It started at 22 days.
The cause of this latest reduction is unclear, but earlier this year, Congress passed a law that gave the Pentagon more flexibility to make cuts.
Tobyhanna Army Depot is the largest electronics maintenance facility in the Department of Defense.
