Police arrest 4 following suspected meth lab explosion

LANSFORD, Pa. -

Officials in Carbon County said they believe a drug lab is to blame for a house fire and explosion.

Emergency crews were called to 117 E. Patterson St. in Lansford around 10:15 p.m. Sunday.

Police said they entered the home to help any victims that may have been inside after the blast, which is when they discovered what they suspect was a methamphetamine lab.

Two men and a woman were taken into custody at the scene. Scott Frantz and his son, Kyle, were arrested. The woman was not identified.

Police have a warrant for the arrest of Tyler Strawdinger in connection with the meth lab. Strawdinger, 20, was described by police as a black man with black hair and brown eyes. He stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. He has pierced ears and tattoos on both the right and left knuckles that spell out "five," police said.

Anyone who may know of Strawdinger's whereabouts is asked to contact police at 570-645-5844. All calls will be kept confidential.

Three small children and a baby were inside the home at the time, but they are all okay, officials said.
