State police investigating Monroe County homicide

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old Monroe County man who died Friday of stab wounds received on June 9.

Police did not identify or offer of a description of the suspect in the homicide, only reporting that is "a known person."

At 6:35 a.m. June 8, David C. Crothers of Kunkletown sustained stab wounds to his legs during an altercation that occurred at his home in the 5700 block of Locust LaneĀ  in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Crothers was transported to Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, where he died in the intensive care unit at 12:10 p.m. Friday.

An autopsy was performed Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Lehigh County.

Monroe County Coroner Bob Allen, who ruled it a homicide, said Crothers died of sharp force injuries from multiple stab wounds to his right extremities.

The investigation is being conducted by state police at Fern Ridge.
