Man accused of shooting at hotel now in custody

Officials say a man wanted in connection with two shootings in Monroe County is now in custody.


A man wanted in connection with a shooting at a motel in Monroe County is now in custody, officials said.

Shicon Jamal Jordan shot at a woman and two friends who were sitting in their SUV outside the Econo Lodge Motel, 100 Park Ave., in Stroudsburg, on Thursday afternoon, police said.

The incident happened just before 3 p.m., and police said he also fired at a motel room, which was unoccupied at the time.


According to police, Jordan, 40, was taken into custody over the weekend in Irvington, Essex Co., N.J.

Jordan is also a suspect in a shooting incident at the Super 8 Motel at 340 Greentree Dr. in East Stroudsburg on March 25.

No one was injured in either incident.
