Meth lab may have caused fire

TAMAQUA, Pa. -

Officials in Schuylkill County are investigating after they say a fire may have been caused by a meth lab.

Tamaqua Police said a fire broke out around 10:30 Wednesday night in the bathroom of an apartment at 14 W. Broad Street.

When police arrived on the scene, they found smoke coming from under the door. No one answered the door,m so they entered the unlocked home.

After the flames were put out, police found items consistent with cooking methamphetamine.

Police are now looking for residents of the apartment: 21-year-old Kelsey Anderson and 33-year-old Thomas Heiser.

Police said investigations continue on the drugs and the fire.
