Police in Carbon County have released the name of the man who was electrocuted while apparently attempting to steal copper wire from poles at the old New Jersey Zinc plant in Palmerton.

Police say 32-year-old Joshua Vacaro, of the 200 block of Delaware Ave. in Palmerton, was found dead Thursday afternoon at the site of the old zinc company.

Police say the apparent cause of death is electrocution. They are still awaiting an official report from the coroner's office.

Police say another man was killed in the same area three years ago while attempting to steal copper.
