Police: Man threw rocks at vehicles

Police in the Poconos say they are looking for a man who was throwing rocks during a wild road rage incident along I-80 in Monroe County.

Police say the incident happened around 6 p.m. Saturday at the exit 308 off-ramp in East Stroudsburg when a man believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s became belligerent during a traffic back-up.

Police the driver of a tractor trailer that became stuck was asking vehicles behind him to back-up so he could attempt to make the turn again.

That's when police say the suspect pulled onto the curve and crashed into the tractor trailer while it was backing up.

Police say the suspect, who was driving a vehicle with a Georgia registration, began picking up rocks from the shoulder and throwing them at several people. One woman was injured when a rock hit her in the stomach, according to police. Another rock crashed through a car window, just missing a 12-year-old girl.

Police say a woman traveling with the suspect jumped into the driver's seat and tried to run over someone.

Witnesses were able to photograph the suspect, seen here.
