A Schuylkill County woman has been charged in the September 2013 accident on Route 901 near Red Horse Road in North Manheim Twp.
On Monday, Nicole Marie Moore was charged by Pennsylvania State Police in Schuylkill Haven with aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, two counts of driving under the influence, recklessly endangering another person, endangering the welfare of children, careless driving, reckless driving and several traffic citations.
The head-one collision involving two cars occurred on Route 901 at 2:35 p.m. Sept. 21.
Moore was driving her 2006 Hyundai Sonata west when she crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, striking a 2010 Kia Soul head-on. The Soul was pushed up an embankment, causing it to flip and roll onto its roof.
The driver of the Soul, 54-year-old Debra Skripko of Llewellyn, was taken to the hospital with what police described as moderate injuries.
Three children were in Moore's car at the time of the accident. Two of them, a 5-month-old baby girl and a 6-year-old girl, were seriously injured. A 3-year-old boy also in her car was not seriously injured.
Moore, who was 27 at the time, also received moderate injuries. Police did not explain her relationship, if any, to the three children.
Police on the scene said Moore showed signs of being intoxicated and submitted to a blood test.
