A Monroe County man died Sunday after apparently drowning in Brodhead Creek.

Monroe County Coroner Bob Allen said Anthony Luvando, 24, from East Stroudsburg, was found in the water around 2 p.m. by someone else in the creek.

Allen said Luvando had been in the creek for at least a day.

Luvando's mother had reported him missing Friday night.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:13 p.m.

Allen said a forensic autopsy will be performed at Lehigh Valley Hospital on Tuesday to determine if Luvando suffered any other injuries.

The death is currently being treated as  an apparent drowning," according to Allen.

Stroud Area Regional Police are also investigating.
