Monroe County man charged with heroin trafficking

MONROE COUNTY, Pa. -

Kerion Johnson, 40, of Monroe County, was charged Wednesday with participating in a conspiracy to distribute heroin, during a six-month period from November 2013 through April 2014.

Special agents from the FBI and the Pennsylvania State Police investigated Johnson, who faces up to 20 years in prison, and a $1 million fine if convicted.

The federal charge comes after an investigation by special agents of the FBI and the Pennsylvania State Police.

According to United States Attorney Peter Smith, Johnson conspired to distribute and posses with intent to distribute heroin in Monroe County, and elsewhere.

The charge was filed in U.S. District Court in Scranton by the United States Attorney's Office, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa.
