Mahanoy City fire station fire

Mahanoy City, Pa. -

Authorities say flames ripped through a fire station, destroying a fire truck just hours before a big celebration.

The two-alarm blaze broke out at around 4:30 Saturday morning at the Washington Hook and Ladder Company in Mahanoy City.

Crews at the scene say the fire truck caught fire before flames quickly spread through the station.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

But, the fire came hours before Mahanoy City's 150th anniversary celebration and parade, which featured nearly 500 fire trucks.

There's no word on what caused the fire.
