A Monroe County man has been charged with breaking into a home to collect a debt and attacking another man with a baseball bat.
Pocono Mountain regional police were dispatched to 429 Glen Ridge Rd., Tobyhanna, for a reported burglary and assault with a baseball bat.
Michael Baker, 19, who was injured from being struck with the bat, told police Erik C. Funk, of Cresco, broke into his home to collect a debt. Funk fled after assaulting Baker, but turned himself in later that night, police said.
Funk, 22, was charged with burglary, criminal attempted robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault, criminal trespass, terrorist threats and possessing an instrument of crime. Bail was set at $15,000.
