Coroner rules Brodhead Creek drowning accidental

An autopsy has been scheduled for a man found dead in a creek in Monroe County.

STROUDSBURG, Pa -

The death of a man found Sunday in a  Monroe County stream has been ruled accidental by county coroner Bob Allen.

Based on an autopsy completed Tuesday morning, Allen ruled the manner of death to be accidental and the cause to be drowning.

The body of 24-year-old Anthony F. Luvando of East Stroudsburg was found Sunday by a swimmer in Brodhead Creek in Stroud Township.

Luvando's mother reported him missing Friday night.

Allen, who pronounced the man dead at the scene at 3:12 p.m. Sunday,  said Luvando had been in the creek for at least a day.
