Car hits tree and catches fire, killing 22-year-old driver

SMITHFIELD TWP., Pa. -

A one-car accident has claimed the life of a 22-year-old East Stroudsburg man, officials said.

Monroe County Coroner Robert Allen said Shawn M. Kyttle was pronounced dead at the accident scene at 11:14 p.m. Sunday.

Allen said Kyttle was the driver of a car involved in a single vehicle accident on Craigs Meadow Road in Smithfieldl Twp.

Kyttle's car was traveling west on Craigs Meadow Road when the car left the road, hit a tree and caught fire, Allen said.

A forensic autopsy is set for Tuesday.

The manner and cause of death is awaiting results of the autopsy.
