An armed man made off with cigarettes during a robbery at a Monroe County pharmacy early Tuesday.

Police say the man entered the store with a knife and demanded money from the cashier.

When the cashier called for the manager, police say the man stole cigarettes and left on foot.

The robber is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, 220 pounds, with black stockings covering his face.

He was wearing tan or brown shoes, blue jeans, light colored gloves, and a black hooded sweatshirt with 'HVAC&R' in white letters on the back, and unknown white lettering on the left front chest area.

The robber left the store on foot heading south on Route 209. Police believe he had a vehicle somewhere in the area.
