An argument about a pair of underwear led to a stabbing Monday morning in Coolbaugh Township, Monore County.

At 7:45 a.m., Pocono Mountain Regional Police responded to a call about a fight at 1037 Country Place Drive.

They found 65-year-old Jeffrey Vipond had been stabbed in the left leg with a kitchen knife. Vipond said he was stabbed by his roommate, 65-year-old Oscar Johnson.

Vipond told police Johnson was arguing with him about a pair of underwear, came into his bedroom and stabbed him. Police did not disclose the nature of that argument.

Johnson was arrested without incident and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and instruments of crime. He will be arraigned before District Magistrate Judge Fluegel.

Vipond was treated at Pocono Medical Center.

Because of unidentified conditions observed at the house, police contacted Coolbaugh Township zoning and building codes enforcement, Monroe County Municipal Waste Authority and Pocono Country Place rules enforcement.
