Women rescued after being lost during hike

JIM THORPE, Pa. -

Emergency crews were at the Lehigh Gorge State Park in Jim Thorpe, Carbon County for five hours Sunday, searching for two women who were lost somewhere on the mountain.

Officials said the Jim Thorpe and Nesquehoning fire departments, as well as Carbon County Emergency Management officials, were at the scene near the access road to Glen Onoko Falls.

A crew at the scene told 69 News that two women went for a hike on the mountain, but were unable to find their way out.  Officials used their cell phones to locate the women, crews at the scene said.

The women were located and were safe and not injured.
