Home invasion investigated in Monroe County

A Stroudsburg man was pistol-whipped and a woman threatened with a gun during a home invasion early Friday.

Police said four men broke into an apartment around 1:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Main Street in Stroudsburg.

A man and two women were in the apartment at the time. When the four armed men broke in, they pistol-whipped the man, grabbed one of the women by the hair and pointed a gun at her face, demanding money and a safe, police said.

All three occupants were then put into a bedroom while the robbers searched the apartment, police said. When it became quiet, the victims called police.

All but one of the suspects was wearing a mask covering his face.

One suspect is described as a black man, 6 feet tall, 160-170 pounds, skinny and having a goatee. He was wearing a black hoodie, white T-shirt, and burgundy sweatpants with green or black boxers.

A second suspect was described as a black man, 5 feet 7 inches tall, skinny, wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket and a green scarf over his face.

No descriptions were provided for the other two robbers.

The male victim was treated at Pocono Medical Center.

It's not known what was taken from the apartment.
