A driver who fell asleep while traveling on Interstate 81 is lucky to be uninjured after her vehicle took out 50 feet of guardrail.
State Police say the 65-year-old driver was traveling northbound at mile marker 115 on Friday afternoon when she fell asleep and crossed into the left shoulder, downing six guardrail posts and 50 feet of guardrail before coming to a rest along the roadside.
Police say she was wearing her seat-belt and multiple airbags deployed, leaving her uninjured.
Her van was severely damaged and required towing.
She was issued a citation from police.
