Carbon County one-car crash in Nesquehoning sends one to the hospital

NESQUEHONING, Pa. -

Police in Carbon County are investigating what led to an accident Sunday night along Route 209.

The single car wreck happened in Nesquehoning around 8:30 p.m.

Crews found 19-year-old Ryan Miller of Coaldale unresponsive at the scene, lying in the roadway next to the car. He was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he's listed in stable condition. Police said he suffered a concussion.

Police said a juvenile female was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries.

Route 209 was closed for more than an hour.

Police said the car was southbound on Route 209 when for some unknown reason, the driver lost control and crossed into the northbound lane, hit an embankment and rolled over.

It's not clear who was driving at the time of the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
