For the second time since last Saturday, an elderly man has been found dead in a residential swimming pool, this time in Hamilton Township.

According to initial reports received by the Monroe County Control Center, an elderly man was found dead this morning in a pool on Helen Street. The Monroe County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene.

It remains to be seen if the man’s death was caused by drowning, a medical issue or some other factor.

Autopsy results are still pending in the death last Saturday morning of Verlyn Landuyt, 76, whose son found him at the bottom of a half-covered above-ground pool in Polk Township, said Coroner Bob Allen.
