WILSON, Pa. -

A man went from a  patient room to a prison cell after he repeatedly refused to leave a Northampton County hospital where he had been treated.

Richard C. Haeseker said would not get dressed or leave Easton Hospital, 250 South 21st St., Wilson, Monday afternoon, because he was dissatisfied with the treatment he had been given, officials said.

Hospital employees, including the assistant CEO, presented paperwork to police backing up their claims that Haeseker was cleared for discharge and that no medical issue prevented him from leaving the premises.

Court papers did not reveal what Haeseker's ailment was or how long he had been in the hospital.

Haeseker, who has no current address, also refused to leave the hospital after he was offered transportation to an area shelter, officials said.

Haeseker, 54, whose last known address was 5 Comegys Road, North Abington, Lackawanna County, was arraigned on a defiant trespass charge and committed to  Northampton County Prison on $100,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. Dec. 16.
