A 21-year-old man is in jail for holding his ex-girlfriend against her will in his car.
Police say John Emrich of Mertztown drove his 18-year-old victim to Forkston, Wyoming County, a substantial distance from her home on Rockhill Rd. in Upper Frederick Twp.
Police initiated an investigation at about 5:30 p.m. into the claims, after the victim's sister contacted them to report her sister had possibly been taken from their home against her will by her ex-boyfriend.
Text messages from the victim to the complainant indicated that the victim was being held against her will.
The complainant had lost all contact with the victim and her ex-boyfriend prior to the complainant's report to police.
Attempts to locate the victim or her ex-boyfriend at different locations failed, police said.
Further investigation revealed a possible location for the pair in Forkston, Wyoming County, and troopers were able to locate both individuals at about 9: 30 p.m. on Dec. 31.
Police ultimately determined that the victim willingly entered her ex-boyfriend's car, however, she was taken against her will to Wyoming County.
Several charges including stalking, false imprisonment and harassment have been filed against Emrich.
Following an arraignment in Wyoming County on New Year day, Emrich was remanded to Wyoming County Correctional Facility on $5000.00 bail until further court proceedings in District Court 38-2-03, police say.
