Candidates for governor to appear at W. Pa. forum

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -

Democratic party candidates for governor, seeking to oust Tom Corbett, are scheduled to appear at a forum in Pittsburgh.

The forum to be held on Jan. 26 at Carnegie Mellon University's McConomy Auditorium, will see 8 hopefuls in appearance.

The candidates include former Department of Environmental Protection secretaries John Hanger and Kathleen McGinty, Lebanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz, State Treasurer Rob McCord, Pentecostal minister Max Myers, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz of Montgomery County and former state Revenue Secretary, Tom Wolf.

They're seeking the nomination to challenge incumbent Republican Tom Corbett.

The forum is sponsored by the 14th Ward Democratic Committee and other local Democratic groups.

Doors open at 1:00 p.m. and the forum beings at 2:00 p.m.
