CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -

Olympus may have made its name with cameras, but the Center Valley branch of the company is celebrating its employees' audio-based skills.

"Peripheral Vision", Olympus' company band, has made it to the final round of the 13th Annual FORTUNE Battle of the Corporate Bands.

Peripheral Vision, which is composed of Olympus employees Paul Franceschini, John Saggese, John Nienstedt, Stefanie Johnson, Dennis Sheridan, Bill Flynn and Ken Kanzler, will compete in the contest's final round on September 28 at Cleveland Ohio's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

The band beat out "nearly 20 other corporate bands from the PA, NY and NJ region" according to Michael Levey, Olympus' Director of Public Relations and Communications.  "This... is important because the local all-employee band is helping to promote music education, which has been shown to increase employee morale and improve productivity in the workplace." said Levey.

All proceeds from the September final will go towards benefiting the Rock Hall's assorted educational programs.

The Rock Hall, which opened in 1995 with the mission statement "to educate visitors, fans and scholars from around the world about the history and continuing significance of rock and roll music." according to its website.

Peripheral Vision will not travel to Cleveland until September, but in the meantime they may be heard at Coca-Cola Park in June and the Saucon Valley Promenade Shops in July.

The June concert will benefit PBS Channel 39, and the July concert will benefit the Lukemia & Lymphoma Society.
