Man admits to setting pet ferrets on fire

PALMER TWP., Pa. -

A Northampton County man has pleaded guilty to setting three pet ferrets on fire.

William Dickerson, of Palmer Township, pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts of animal cruelty as well as terroristic threats and criminal mischief.

Officials said the 63-year-old doused his niece's ferrets in gasoline and set them on fire back in August.

The ferrets are still alive.

Dickerson will undergo a mental health evaluation before he is sentenced in February.
