No Powerball winner; jackpot soars to $550 million

Dreaming of a new house or a vacation to Hawaii?
Well with a ton of luck those dreams might be within reach. There was no winner in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, meaning the jackpot for Saturday's drawing will be at least $550 million.
Excitement is growing, and so is the Powerball Jackpot. It's rolled over nearly a dozen times and Thursday swelled from $475 million to a whopping $550 million.
"I think it's high enough that I'm willing to invest some money to see if I can be a winner," shared Richard Rau.
"Hey somebody has to win," smiled Brian Rysso. "Why not me."
It's the second largest prize in the game's history and ticket sales could push it higher come Saturday's drawing. If it seems the prizes are much bigger, you're right, lotto officials say it's because the price of tickets doubled from one dollar to two. But you have a greater chance of being struck by lightening twice then striking it rich with the Powerball.
"I still try anyway," added Daniel Figueroa. "Hopefully I'll make it one day."
Since dreaming big is part of the fun of playing, we wanted to know what you would do with the money if you had to do something good with it.
"I'd probably try to locally feed and clothe and house people," described Russo. "There's a lot of people that go to bed hungry at night around here."
"I have my church and I have my, it's called the food for the poor," said Figueroa.
"Probably American Cancer society," explained Rau. "That's what I would do, give it all to them."
If you get all five of the Powerball numbers correct the cash value right now is $350 million before taxes. If you're feeling lucky, tickets will be on sale until 9:59 p.m. Saturday.
