Illegal dumping charges

A New Jersey man and three businesses are facing criminal charges for allegedly dumping contaminated soil at two locations in Northampton County.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane says Arthur Fletcher had contaminated soil excavated from a former gas station in the Bronx dumped at locations in Wind Gap and Bangor.

One of the properties is owned by the Bangor Borough Municipal Authority.

Officials say it cost $50,000 to clean up this location.

Three trucking companies that transported the contaminated soil have also been charged.
