Neighbors upset over Halloween display

A Halloween display in one New Jersey town is turning heads.

George Fetchina is a contractor by trade, but his latest build is causing a stir in Washington Twp., Warren Co., N.J.

"Halloween is always a fun time of the year for me," Fetchina explained.  "I must have 300 to 400 horror movies, and I started to get some of these ideas from them."

Fetchina's fright fest on his front lawn goes a little beyond typical Halloween spirit, and it's turning heads.  His henchmen are life-sized, and he spent days building and rigging up the display.

"It's just all in good scare fun," he smiled.

But not everyone in town feels the same way.  A viewer contacted 69 News, saying the horror arrangement isn't festive, instead calling it offensive and disturbing.

According to Washington Township officials, at least five people have called and complained it's too gory, gruesome and gross.

"I don't want to see it," shared one neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous.  "I don't want those images in my head."

"It exposes every child who passes it in a car to a display of pornography, violence and graphic images," added another concerned resident.

We checked in with local lawmakers, and they said there's nothing criminal about the haunted yard.

Fetchina's property borders Route 31. He said he feels like it's the perfect stage to show off his terrifying talents.

"Just whatever comes to the top of my head, and to create something new," said Fetchina. "And get a reaction, and so far it seems to be successful two years now."

No matter if it's good or bad, he'll be getting a reaction until he dismantles the scary scenes after Oct. 31.
