The Warren County Board of Chosen Freeholders passed their first proclamation of 2013 by proclaiming March as American Red Cross Month.
“This is a great, great organization,” commented Freeholder Edward Smith. “It is probably one of the best organizations we have out there in regards to boots on the ground,” he continued.
According to the proclamation read aloud by Freeholder Director Jason Sarnoski, “in Warren County, the Red Cross works tirelessly through employees and volunteers to help when disaster strikes, when someone needs life-saving blood or the comfort of a helping hand. It provides 24 hour support to members of the military, veterans and their families and provides training in CPR, aquatics safety and first aid.”
“The dollar value goes very, very far when it comes to the Red Cross,” stated Freeholder Richard Gardner.
The Board of Freeholders passed the proclamation by a unanimous vote and American Red Cross representative Maryann Maikisch accepted the proclamation on behalf of the organization.
