What is it about the number 12?
You have the 12 apostles. The 12 signs of the zodiac and the 12 days of Christmas.
Wednesday many couples are saying "I do" on the numerically notable date 12-12-12.
Led by a pint-sized petal thrower, Marla is escorted to her groom David's side by her son.
"Marla is getting to choose a special, special day," said ordained minister RuthAnn Damato.
Special for the obvious romantic reasons, but also because the Phillipsburg, New Jersey couple are among the 7,500 people who are expected to tie the knot on 12-12-12 in the United States.
Some picked it for the luck associated with the number 12. Others joke it's a good way for spouses to remember anniversaries.
David Gonzalez picked the date and his girlfriend Marla said yes after two years of dating.
"I wanted it to be a special date. Originally I was thinking about 12-13-14. But then I was thinking no, I don't want to wait that long," said Gonzalez.
12-12-12 is a numeric sequence that won't be repeated for one hundred years but for couples like Marla and Dave, this is the only date that matters to them.
