Charles Cullen - The Good Nurse

A new book details Charles Cullen's murderous career as a nurse and reveals the identity of the confidential informant who helped police crack the case.

The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder, written by Charles Graeber, hit store bookshelves Monday.

The book identifies Amy Loughren as the informant who discovered in 2003 how Cullen was picking and killing his victims, according to an excerpt of the book that was published in Sunday's New York Post.

Loughren, also a nurse, became a confidant of Cullen's at Somerset Medical Center in New Jersey, the last place Cullen worked before his arrest in 2003.

Cullen also worked as a nurse at Lehigh Valley, St. Luke’s and Easton hospitals and the Hunterdon Medical Center.
