NCAA RUNDOWN: ESU advances; Moravian, Alvernia fall

The East Stroudsburg baseball team picked up first round NCAA playoff win on Thursday, while Moravian and Alvernia both lost.
Moravian suffered a 5-3 loss to Neumann in the first elimination game of the NCAA Division III Auburn NY Regional at Ithaca College.
The Greyhounds, who saw a late inning lead slip away for the second straight day in the regional, end the 2013 season with a 24-19 record, and with its second Landmark Conference title in the last four seasons.
Alvernia fell to Kean 5-2 in a first round game of their NCAA Div. III Regional Tournament.
Kean scored three runs in the first inning and held on to win from there.
The No. 5 Crusaders will face No. 3 Misericordia in an elimination game on Friday at 10am.
East Stroudsburg earned a come-from-behind, 10-inning, 8-6 win over host Winston-Salem in the first round of the NCAA Div. II Tournament.
The Warriors fell behind 6-2, but rallied to score four times in the eighth to force extra innings, then two more in the 10th to win it.
East Stroudsburg will next face Seton Hill on Friday at 6pm.
