BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

A woman was found to have shoplifted merchandise from two CVS pharmacies in different parts of Bethlehem within the span of a half-hour, officials said.

Micia Best was picked up by police Thursday afternoon, after she had pushed past an employee at the CVS Pharmacy at 305 West 4th St. just before 2 p.m. with a purse full of stolen merchandise worth $42.56, officials said.

Best bit CVS investigator Michael Pezoldt on his right forearm as she made her getaway with four packs and two cans of Red Bull energy drink, two bottles of Axe body wash and two rolls of toilet paper, officials added.

Police also found several bags of Axe body wash and cosmetics when they searched the trunk of the car that brought Best to the drug store and determined the $82.55 worth of merchandise was stolen from the CVS Pharmacy at 327 Woodlawn Ave., Bethlehem, around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, officials said.

The driver of the car, Linda Vega-Rosario, said she saw Best carry the bags from the Woodlawn Avenue CVS into her car, officials noted.

Best has five previous shoplifting convictions, they said.

Best, 35, of 700 Williams St., Bethlehem, was arraigned on charges of felony retail theft, receiving stolen property, assault, harassment and robbery in connection with the incident at the West 4th Street CVS and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $3,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 12.

Best also was arraigned on a retail theft charge for the incident at the Woodlawn Avenue CVS, and bail was set at $1,000.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 13.
